DIY ✧ DREAM POP ✧ INDIE ROCK ✧ DANCE PUNK ✧ COLLECTIVE
Leave a memory, a secret, a curse, or a blessing…
I'm Tristan Sky, and Skelly Records is the small, stubborn universe I share with some of my best friends and collaborators Johnathan Ramirez and Bobby Gilmore. We play in a loose family of bands that drift between beach goth, dream pop, indie rock and dance punk, collecting every project we've started over the years that never quite fit anywhere else.
John and I met when we were 15 and 19. He gave me a chance to be in a band even though I was a dorky homeschooled 15-year-old, and by then he'd already written so many amazing songs, playing them on his busted handheld cassette recorder. We became best friends and have stayed that way for the last 15 years, writing hundreds of songs and cycling through a bunch of band names along the way.
Skelly Records is also shaped by the people who've created music with us along the way. We first met Octavius Romanowski through a Craigslist ad, easily one of the best chances we've ever taken. He became the drummer for our first band, State of the Art, and his precise timing and dance-punk sensibilities defined that era of our sound. More than that, we became close friends, and that chemistry bled into everything we wrote during that time.
After State of the Art, we met Bobby Gilmore when all three of us were working at the same restaurant. John and I instantly clicked with him, and when we found out he was an incredible drummer, guitarist, and singer, we invited him to band practice. Bobby's drumming style was expressive, vibrant, and full of swagger, the kind of energy that pushed us into forming our second band, Skeleton Flamingos, a project rooted in indie rock, experimental psych pop, and loose jam-style writing.
Bobby continued on with us as both drummer and guitarist in our newest project, C'mere, a guitar-focused indie sleaze act influenced by ’60s rock and early 2000s guitar/britpop revival. His musicianship helped shape the sound into something sharp, nostalgic, and alive.
Skelly Records exists to pull all of these projects into one place. Thank you for checking out our site. We'll be uploading songs that we've written, recorded and produced ourselves for you to listen to and download for free.
We're tired of the modern landscape of streaming and playlists and the way releasing music in 2025 can feel flat and disposable. We want to go back to a grassroots early-internet feeling, when finding new music online felt cool and magical.
Our first spark, fast songs, sharp guitar hooks, and earnest lyrics written when everything felt huge and immediate. It was us learning how to be a band.
A shift into experimentation. Skeleton Flamingos lived in beach-goth haze, psychedelic colors, long breakdowns, and raw, unpolished charm. A wide-open playground with no rules.
Started as a dusty 1960s-inspired project and grew into a guitar-forward indie sleaze act full of swagger, romance, and sharp, emotional hooks.
Bright synths, warped textures, and dreamy rhythms. Courage & Odyssey was our neon-colored world of reverb, motion, and imagination — late-night, glowing, and cinematic.
My solo project, mostly instrumental, built from nostalgic tones, tape warmth, and late-night experimentation. A space to push sound, pedals, and texture as far as they’ll go.
John’s solo project, cosmic, shifting, and unpredictable. Songs morph and transform like levels in a dreamlike game, carried by shimmering synths and bold ideas.
